St. Louis Post-Dispatch: “Former Ballwin lawmaker has a new gig: Shamed Dogan will push for ‘approval voting’ measure in 2024”

“JEFFERSON CITY — Former state Rep. Shamed Dogan isn’t finished with politics after his surprise loss in the August Republican primary for St. Louis County executive.

On Friday, he announced his next job after his last term in the Legislature expired this month: organizer for Missouri Agrees, a group that plans to introduce a ballot question for 2024 to usher in ‘approval voting’ in Missouri.

Dogan described how approval voting would work: ‘If you have several candidates on the ballot, instead of having to vote for one of them, and choosing between the lesser of five evils, you get to vote for all the candidates you support.’

In the end, the candidate with the most votes would win, he said.”
